Welcome

Hi There! Welcome to my blog. I am a thirty something woman living in Las Vegas with some challenges to overcome. I have been struggling with anxiety for a few years. The anxiety has triggered alcoholism, which is also a challenge. I am chubby, tired, and out of focus because of it all. I feel old. Time to turn that around! I plan on tackling my issues head on with changes in my eating, my lifestyle, and in my mind. Welcome to my journey!

This weekend I enjoyed

Over three weeks sober!

All is good

  • Still sober! 19 days today!
  • Ran last night – I have been faithful to the running program so far, but I will need to repeat this week again. My leg muscles need to catch up. Going to the pool for excercize tonight
  • Heartburn is slooooowly getting better
  • Anxiety is sloooooooooooooooooooooowly getting better…but I was a little jumpy last night. I am still battling it with herbals
  • Next week I am going to buckle down with food choices.

Today I enjoyed

  • Coffee
  • Rotisserie Chicken
  • Mashed Potatoes
  • Garlic bread
  • Tea
  • Hummus with veggies
  • Roasted Garlic

Excercize & Weight Loss

I have been excercizing pretty regularly. I am still running 3 times a week for the Couch to 5k program. (Ouch) and I am going other forms of excercize in between. Last night I did some water aerobics! Whee!

I have also lost somewhere around 6-9 lbs. Not exactly sure, but who cares! I can see it in my belly! My goal is between 115 and 118 lbs. I weighed in this morning at 132.5 lbs. I should be able to hit my goal by summer (bikini here I come). I haven’t EVER worn a bikini…not because of fat, but because I lived in Chicago my whole life till I moved to Las Vegas. Chicago is not much of a beach town unless you live in the city near the beach.

Caffeine

Caffeine…my friend, my enemy. Today, and forever, there is no caffeine after noon. On my way to giving it up. It causes me heart palpations…which as you may have read, triggers anxiety reactions for me! Plus, I hate the up and down energy.

Today I enjoyed

  • Green apple
  • Cake
  • Chicken nuggets
  • 1/2 Baked potato
  • Thai coconut milk & meat
  • Olives

Tonight I am thinking about just doing liquids – Coconut meat and milk  smoothies AND carrott apple ginger lemon juice

Damn! I was doing good!

I haven’t had any anxiety for several days, but I just had a little caused by heartburn. Even the heartburn was going down for a minute…must have been those radishes! I just took an herbal…

….later that day…

I took another herbal chill out pill. I am much better now!
